Bounce back into your life

This week 6 years ago, I was signed off work as sick. I was exhausted, I could barely get out of bed and I felt depressed, lonely and helpless. Sad times.

I started assessing my life (which make me even worse) and I realised I was completely directionless. I had no clue as to where I was headed. I’d lost my passion and drive, and my life had become a mess. I was hidden in a haze of work, partying and anxiety (made worse by the partying).

I wasn’t excited by life – I’d forgotten that life could be exciting (maybe it never had been, except for holidays). I’d always just coasted along, never believing I was good enough for anything different. This kept me small, in the background, and scared. I’d spent all my work-life in advertising, and I didn’t know what else I could do.

And besides, how would I even go about finding something else?

And doesn’t it take years to find something you feel passionate about?

I was so far removed from living a life I could love, and deep down I believed I’d missed my chance. I thought I’d be selling creative ideas for the rest of my life (and boy did that depress me).

Little did I know at the time, that the way forward {and through the pickle I’d got myself in} was to first:

1) Address some of the limiting beliefs I’d surrounded myself with, and created for myself. The ‘I’m not good enough for this’ or ‘I’m not experienced enough in this’ or ‘it’s not safe to do this’ and (my personal favourite) ‘If I try this, I’ll definitely fail!’

2) Release my fears and worries stopping me from finding my purpose. These are like road blocks, they stop you dead in your tracks.

3) Find some faith – a connection or belief in something that was bigger than me, something I could surrender to (and trust in) and know I’d be supported with a divine intervention the moment life became too intense 🙂

How did I do this?

I committed to healing myself {that’s all} I chose to prioritise myself, and get myself sorted. Enough was enough.

How can you do this?
