IN CONVERSATION WITH JODY SHIELD, INTUITIVE THERAPIST

We caught up with Jody Shield who is an inspirational speaker, author, meditation teacher and intuitive healer. She’s fast becoming a name reverently whispered amongst London’s high fliers as the go-to healer to solve all our modern woes. She supports people to process the past, be present and create a life they love. She’s the first European meditation ambassador for global brand Lululemon Athletica, and has residencies across London. Jody gives us 3 top tips to help you stay zen in the workplace.


What’s your background?

I worked as a Business Director for 10 years in Advertising so experienced first hand the crazy pace of a corporate role. After many successful years I ended up hauled up in bed signed off with exhaustion wondering where my life was taking me. Was this how it was supposed to be?

During those 2 weeks in bed I knew something had to shift. I booked myself a ticket to South America to go on sabbatical and put myself back together, during that process I ended up deep in the Amazon jungle taking part in an Ayahuasca ceremony (A shamanic healing ritual) which blew my heart and mind wide open, on returning to London I had profoundly shifted from the inside out, and knew life as I had known it no longer existed.

I started training behind the scenes in many different self development tools, I found my teacher Damien Wynne and trained in Light Grids healing which I now use in 121 sessions and in our group work at LifeTonic events.

When the time came I left the corporate world and set up my 121 practise working out of Indaba Yoga Studio and from that day my business was born. Fast forward to now I hold a variety of healing and meditation events all over London. My 3 top tips to staying zen in the work place are as follows;

MORNING MEDITATION

TAPPING + POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a powerful self-help technique which utilises the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power. GET OUTSIDE + BREATHE

Finally, we all say we are going to but how many of us actually close our laptop down and head outside. This is absolutely essential to re charge your energy levels through out the day. Close your laptop down sit quietly with your eyes closed and breath deeply for a few minutes before heading out and getting some fresh air. Simple yet so effective!
